Autumn Schedule 2025
- Courses are suitable for adult learners. They are open to UL students/staff as well as members of the general public.

- The fee is €180 (except morning discussion group €50). Payments will be taken on the first evening. Courses will run subject to demand.
- The UL/MIC student rate is €90. The student rate applies to the following categories also: Refugees / Job Seekers / People living with a disability / OAP (65+). Please note that evidence of situation will be requested.
- If you are unsure of your current level, this detailed can give some guidance. A1/A2 level indicates Beginners level, B1/B2 level suggests Meánrang/Intermediate level.

- Aonad na Gaeilge Language Tutors have much experience of working with adult learners of Irish. Language learning strategies are discussed regularly in class - ways of dealing with common fears around making mistakes, not being understood in Irish, reading out loud, using Irish in the community, and so forth. Learners are encouraged to reflect on their progress and the focus is always on self-encouragement.
Evening Options
Suitable for those who did Irish at school but want to go over the basics and build up their confidence again.

Daytime Options
A facilitator-led discussion group aimed at learners with a high standard of spoken Irish. Themes mostly related to current affairs are discussed each week. Please email ciara.considine@ul.ie for further information.

This micro-credential represents a single module within a larger further award (Dioplóma sa Ghaeilge Fheidhmeach - next intake September 2027). By taking this micro-credential, you may be eligible to apply for a credit exemption should you progress to study for a further award. The aim of this module is to prepare students to use Irish in their work context. It is an intensive language course. All language skills are developed, and common language themes in everyday working life are dealt with. Students focus on specific terminology relating to the professional setting. The primary goal is to encourage and develop the confidence of participants to gradually use more Irish in the workplace.
