Our next AHSS PhD Development Session is on ‘Using AI for Academic Writing: Open Educational Resources’. This seminar will take place on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 at 11:30am in Kate O’Brien Room C1-079 and hosted by Dr. Catherine Martin, Dr. Maria Palomares and Dr. Marta Giralt. This workshop is based on the application of Open Educational Resources (OERs) developed by the Erasmus + project “AI Write”. The ‘AI Write’ project aims to promote the effective implementation of best practices for using AI tools to support academic writing. The aim during the workshop, which will be interactive in nature, is to combine reflection and practice about AI-based writing approaches. During the workshop, participants will interact with OERs to support their academic writing and responsible use of AI tools. The OERs include guidance in argument development with AI, criteria for selecting tools to be used in the academic writing process and the use of AI for synthesis writing. The workshop should last a minimum of 90 minutes. You will need to bring a laptop to the class. You are all very welcome to attend.
