The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Autumn School commences this Friday, October 24, and runs throughout the weekend (Oct 24-26). In addition to honoring the life of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, mother of President John F Kennedy, the School also explores the wider Irish-American emigration experience, from post-famine times to the present day, with a particular focus on women.
On Saturday October 25, Professor Bernadette Whelan (Emeritus Professor, UL) will give a talk titled: 'America, Concept and Reality: The Impact on Irishwomen's Lives, 1845-1920.' Dr Matthew Potter, the Curator of the Limerick Museum, will act as Moderator for the session. This event will take place at 4pm in the Thomas Fitzgerald Center in Bruff, Co, Limerick.
