Dr. Alan Cusack (¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ) and Dr. Roxanna Dehaghani (Cardiff University) were recently invited to deliver a guest seminar as part of the Law & Society Research Seminar Series at Goldsmiths, University of London.

The seminar was entitled, ‘Navigating the Right to a Fair Trial for Vulnerable People: A Critique of Strasbourg Jurisprudence’ and it explored the seemingly erratic approach which has been adopted by the European Court of Human Rights in recent years towards the question of the appropriate approach to treating vulnerable suspects in police custody in light of their right to a fair trial under Article 6 ECHR.

The seminar was delivered in a hybrid format with attendees joining in-person and online from across the world.

Dr. Cusack and Dr. Dehaghani are very grateful to Professor Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos for kindly extending an invitation to present this research as part of the Law and Society Research Seminar Series and the feedback received from this engagement had a formative impact on the final version of the research paper which was recently published in the Human Rights Law Review
