The School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics is continuing its collaboration with the UL Academy for Children to provide primary school pupils in DEIS schools with an introduction to a language. Coordinated by Catherine Jeanneau, Language Learning Hub coordinator, this initiative is its 6th year. This semester, 23 children from the Christian Brothers Boys Primary School, CBS Doon are learning Spanish and 87 children from Our Lady Queen of Peace, Janesboro are learning French. The course runs over 10 weeks. It culminates with all the children attending a language and cultural day on campus. Many thanks to Margarita Esteban and Audrey Parent , our tutors on the programme this semester who visit the schools every week.
