On 13 November, Diarmuid Johnson and Swiss author Gabrielle Alioth gave a reading from their novels about the Irish monk St Gall, who travelled to mainland Europe in the 6th century and eventually settled in Switzerland. The event featured contributions from students of the IWAMD, led by Ewa Zak-Dyndal and supported by their lecturer Dr Eleanor Giraud, who performed medieval chants accompanied by sound effects evoking the atmosphere of St Gallen鈥檚 church. The well-attended reading was organised by Dr Anita Barmettler in collaboration with the Centre for Irish-German Studies.
