About STEER 

STEER (Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Education and Research) is a cross-disciplinary research group focusing on technology and science-based entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. 

Our research investigates new ways to teach and empower nascent STEM entrepreneurs and examines emerging trends in entrepreneurship education in these contexts. 

Our team studies the educational and contextual factors affecting the rates of STEM entrepreneurship, both nationally and internationally. 

STEER brings together expertise from industry, research and education to investigate entrepreneurship education in an increasingly technology-driven world.


 

Roisin is (STEER project lead) is an Associate Professor (B) in the Kemmy Business School specialising in entrepreneurship education and pedagogy. She is also the innovation lead for the Immersive Software Engineering programme.

 

Chris is the course director of the Immersive Software Engineering programme. His research crosses areas of computer science, teacher education, and curricular innovation.
 
 

Clare is the Education and Public Engagement Program Manager in Lero. She holds an BA (Mod) from Trinity College Dublin, an ALM from Harvard University and PhD from 九色视频. Her research interests include responsible software engineering and computer science education.

Alessandro is a PhD student in the STEER research group. His research examines factors affecting technology entrepreneurship on an international level, and the ethical complexities inherent in technology and science-based entrepreneurship. 


STEER was established in 2025 as a Lero Platform project facilitated by Immersive Software Engineering. The current project is funded by industry and Research Ireland.
