This is a call for applications from EHS colleagues who would be interested in becoming a serving member of the EHS Research Committee.

The EHS Research Committee provides an opportunity for EHS colleagues to support the work of all EHS Faculty, researchers and postgraduate candidates as informed by relevant UL and EHS Faculty strategies. Research-related initiatives that the Committee have played an active role in over the recent years includes EHS seed funding and research achievement awards, the development of co-funding guidance principles, and actively supporting the implementation of the EHS strategy. The Terms of Reference for the EHS Research Committee can be accessed here  and allow sufficient flexibility for the Committee, in partnership with EHS colleagues, to respond to, and advocate for, how best to support the research-related activities of EHS colleagues.

There are three available opportunities for EHS colleagues to replace outgoing committee members whose term will soon conclude:

  • Replacement from March 2026 of Mid-career colleague (usually Associate Professor A or B): Three-year term
  • Replacement from March 2026 of a PhD Candidate (Traditional route PhD): 12–18-month term
  • Replacement from March 2026 of a PhD Candidate (Structured PhD): 12 -18-month term

Interested EHS colleagues are requested to process their expression of interest by completing the expression of interest form and return to ADR.EHS@ul.ie by 5pm on Friday 27th February 2026.
