The ɫƵ campus came alive with light, laughter, and culture as UL Global is collaboration with UL PSU, hosted Diwali 2025, a spectacular celebration of one of the world’s most vibrant festivals.

Taking place on Monday, October 20th, the day began in the Foundation Building foyer, which was beautifully transformed by a team of student volunteers into a festival of colour. Intricate Rangoli designs, a traditional Urli floral display, and stands offering mehndi, bindi, and sweets set the scene for a joyful afternoon of music, dance, and cultural connection.

The event opened with a warm welcome and reflection from Muhammad Adnaan, ULPSU who spoke about celebrating “Diwali Away from ɫƵ” ɫƵ. This was followed by a lively programme of performances showcasing the incredible talent of UL’s international students.

Highlights included:

  • A graceful classical dance by Sharvari Bandivadekar
  • A heartfelt solo by Kirankumar Sabathi, performing “M” from Taare Zameen Par
  • Dynamic Bollywood and Tollywood group dances led by Shea Mascarenhas, Kalyan, Archana, Malleshwari, Bhoomika, and Pranay Teja
  • Solo and duet performances by Bhoomika Patapatnam, Mahendiran Sindhu, Anshul, and Sangarika
  • A stunning a cappella performance by Aditi Deshmukh
  • A high-energy finale dance from Sana Mittal, Shrestha Dey, and Manya Prakash, closing the show on a festive note.

The celebrations then moved outdoors, where a surprise flashmob in The Plaza delighted onlookers and brought the festival spirit to the heart of campus. The excitement carried into the evening with a Diwali Night in The Stables, where guests enjoyed delicious finger food and danced late into the night to the beats of DJ Neville, one of Dublin’s top DJs.

Speaking after the event, UL Global praised the students and volunteers for their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm.

“Diwali 2025 was a true reflection of UL’s global community—welcoming, diverse, and full of life,” said Yvonne Crosse, International student Engagement Manage. “It’s events like this that remind us of the power of cultural exchange and celebration.”

With its music, colour, and spirit of togetherness, Diwali 2025 once again proved why UL Global events are a highlight of the university calendar—bringing people together from all corners of the world to celebrate light, hope, and community.
