Visits from Swiss and Austrian Ambassadors to UL

This week we were delighted to welcome the Swiss Ambassador to Ireland, her Excellency Ms Jenny Piaget and the Austrian Ambassador to Ireland, her Excellency Ms Melitta Schubert who visited the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ to contribute to a roundtable discussion on Austrian, Swiss and Irish Neutrality.

UL Global Spring Festival 2025: A Celebration of Cultures and Community

On March 12th and 13th, the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ came alive with vibrant celebrations as students and staff gathered for the UL Global Spring Festival 2025. This annual event showcased the rich cultural diversity within the UL community through food, language, literature, music, and joyous multicultural festivities.

Lunar New Year 2025 Celebrations at The Globe

On 28 and 29 January, UL Global celebrated the Lunar New Year, ushering in the Year of the Snake with the entire campus community. The Globe was adorned with vibrant decorations and rich colours associated with this auspicious festival, creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity.

Inspired by his community’s energy crisis, a ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ graduate and UL Global Ambassador Programme alumni has become the pride of his hometown in Pakistan as he becomes the first person from the community to earn a PhD.

UL Global Orientation Spring 2025

On Sunday and Monday January 19 and 20, 2025 UL Global welcomed almost 600 new international students to UL. Our award winning 7-day Orientation programme, voted best in Ireland* by international students, commenced on Sunday 19th when our students arriving at Shannon Airport were met by our brilliant UL Global Guides and travelled to their residences via our complimentary collection service.

Buddy Programme Autumn 2024

The Buddy Programme kicked off again this semester, aiming to help new incoming international students settle into life here ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ, life in Limerick and Ireland in general. The UL Global Buddy Programme offers international students a unique opportunity to connect with domestic students and form social connections. The aim of this programme is to utilise current students lived experience to benefit new international students and create opportunities for friendships and assimilation into local culture making transitions into a new culture smoother.

Exploring New Horizons: Reflections on Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Experiences

Each year, over 60 staff members from the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ (UL) take part in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme, venturing to different countries to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration, and broaden their professional perspectives. For some, like Nicole Campbell, Senior Administrator at the Cooperative Education & Careers Division, and Professor Witold Kwapinski, Course Director of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, these experiences are more than just academic—they are deeply personal journeys that lead to newfound confidence, valuable connections, and fresh insights into education systems across Europe.
