During this programme, you will: 

• Master advanced research and analytics skills that are valuable for psychology, as well as academic, commercial and social research environments. 
  
• Choose a stream that reflects your interests and career trajectory, from research methods to social psychology, community and health, or clinical psychology. 

• Design, conduct, and evaluate research that addresses real-world social and psychological issues—skills that are highly valued in both academic and applied settings. 

• Develop a foundation for entry to doctoral level degree programmes in psychology for those with a PSI-accredited undergraduate degree.

• Complete four core research modules in addition to your stream’s core modules.

• Choose electives to suit your interests. 

• Submit a research project at the end of the final semester.  

• Graduate with an MSc in Psychological Science.

• Lectures, workshops, and experiential learning 

• Reflective practice and supervised research 

• Regular feedback from faculty and peers through group work and assessments

Year 1 

Core Modules 

• gives you a strong understanding of the methods of basic and applied research, including both experimental and non-experimental psychological research. 

• will develop quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills for psychological research. 

• will explore advanced analysis and statistics for experimental and non-experimental methods.   

• introduces qualitative research design and data analysis, and demonstrates how different views of the world allow us to use data in different ways.

• Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in psychology.   

• We will consider relevant work experience and equivalent qualifications in related fields (e.g., sociology, economics) with substantial research methods experience. 

• Candidates may be interviewed as part of the selection process.

  • Upload all documents. Your application can’t be reviewed until we have all the documents on the checklist.
  • Title the documents you are uploading. For example, "Personal Statement", "Undergraduate Transcript", "Postgraduate Transcript", "English Language Certificate" etc.
• *If you are waiting to graduate, submit your application with the documents you have to date, you don’t need to have finished final exams before applying. 

EU – Full-Time €7,600, Online €6,600

Non-EU – Full-Time €16,500, Online €14,000

Please note that international study visas are only available to students studying full-time in Ireland (Streams 1 -4). The online stream of this programme does not qualify for a study visa. 

Annual fees are billed by semester. Once registered, students may be eligible to apply for a monthly payment plan.

Being able to narrow my focus to social psychology meant that I was studying topics that I had a genuine passion for and interest in each week.
