Brief Description

Strong leadership is key to creating a positive and high-performing school environment. This 6-week micro-credential supports Post-Primary Principals and Deputy Principals in developing practical leadership skills they can apply directly in their schools. 

³Û´Ç³Ü’l±ô explore how to set clear, meaningful goals with your team, give and receive effective feedback that supports growth, and manage difficult conversations with confidence and empathy. The micro-credential also helps you to reflect on your own leadership approaches and build stronger, more supportive staff relationships. 

This module can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module. 

During this module, you will: 

  • Learn how to set realistic and motivating goals that support staff development and school improvement. 

  • Build confidence in giving constructive feedback and having open, respectful conversations with colleagues. 

  • Explore leadership strategies that balance human-centred and managerial approaches to building capacity in your school. 

  • Reflect on your leadership approaches and develop practical techniques for managing difficult conversations, conversations, while promoting a supportive, high-trust environment. 

  • This micro-credential will be delivered online over 6 weeks, and will culminate in a final in-person day.

You will be assessed using continuous assessment methods, including collaborative and reflective assignments.

You must be a Post-Primary Principal or Deputy Principal in Ireland
