Brief Description

As Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems become increasingly interconnected, professionals need a clear understanding of the security standards, laws, and regulations that govern this convergence. 

This 12-week, Level 9 micro-credential gives you the knowledge to navigate cybersecurity legislation, regulatory frameworks, and ethical practices relevant to OT/IT environments. 

³Û´Ç³Ü’l±ô explore key reporting obligations, emerging threats, and the role of ethics in computing, helping you make informed, compliant decisions in your role. 

This module is associated with the Operational Technology (OT) Security - Professional Diploma.  It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award. 

 

During this module, you will: 

  • Appraise the laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy. 

  • Assess, manage, and apply the reporting standards relevant to Operational and Information Technologies. 

  • Evaluate the threat landscape associated with IT/OT integration. 

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical issues associated with computing. 

Key Information

This micro-credential will be delivered online over 12 weeks.  

You will be assessed using continuous skill-based assignments provided by your lecturer and tutor with no final exam.

To help you to be successful on this course:  

  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant discipline. 

  • If applicants have a lower result or an unrelated qualification, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence of relevant work experience (Recognised Prior Learning).
