Brief Description

Digital Integrated Circuit (IC) testing plays a vital role in the semiconductor industry, ensuring functionality, reliability, and performance in high-volume manufacturing.

This 15-week micro-credential is designed for practising engineers involved in IC test and test development activities.

During this module you’ll learn how to interpret test requirements, develop test plans, and use industry-standard techniques to assess device performance and quality.

Delivered online with supporting on-campus lab work, this micro-credential equips you to solve real-world testing challenges using current tools and standards.

This module is organised by the and is subsidised by Skillnet Ireland. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS).

During this module, you will:

Understand the role of digital IC test in ensuring quality and performance in semiconductor manufacturing.

Develop invaluable skills in designing, running and analysing structured tests using equipment provided.

Learn how to identify, simulate and evaluate faults in digital circuits using techniques like ATPG, BIST and DfT.

Gain hands-on experience in testing digital systems, from combinational and sequential logic to memory, processors and SoCs, using real-world tools and industry standards.

Key Information

This micro-credential will be delivered over 15 weeks with an on-campus day in week 1, online activities in weeks 2-14 and a final on-campus day in week 15.
