ReSHAPE Project Funding

Risk management is critical to success in finance, industry, and global business. Now more than ever, organisations need professionals who can navigate uncertainty, manage exposure, and ensure compliance in fast-changing environments. 

This 11-week, Level 9 micro-credential gives you a robust foundation in market, credit, operational, and political risk.  It focuses on real-world application in financial institutions and industrial sectors.  

³Û´Ç³Ü’l±ô explore risk modelling, corporate governance, and the regulatory frameworks that guide risk-related decisions. 

Designed for managers, supervisors, or those aspiring to leadership roles in financial institutions and industrial corporations, this module supports career advancement or progression to further postgraduate study. 

This module is associated with the Aviation Leasing and Finance Professional Diploma. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award. 

During this module, you will: 

  • Develop specialist knowledge in managing market, credit, operational, political, and corporate governance risk across financial and industrial sectors. 

  • Apply practical tools such as re/insurance contracts, captive strategies, and financial instruments to manage real-world risk exposures. 

  • Explore risk modelling techniques including Value-at-Risk (VaR) using parametric, historical, and Monte Carlo simulations. 

  • Strengthen your career prospects or prepare for postgraduate study by gaining high-demand expertise in compliance, regulation, and financial risk strategy. 

Key Information 

This micro-credential will be delivered online over 11 weeks. 

You will be assessed through 1-2 continuous skill-based assignments, provided by your lecturer, with no final exam.

To help you to be successful on this course: 

  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in any discipline.   

  • If applicants have a lower result or an unrelated qualification, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence of 3 or more years of relevant work experience (Recognised Prior Learning).

  • This course will go ahead if it meets minimum enrolment number.  

  • Completing this module doesn’t guarantee you a place in a full programme. If you want to apply for a full programme, you must meet the specific entry requirements for that programme.
