Brief Description
Technology is evolving faster than ever and shaping how we live, work and connect.
This 6-week micro-credential helps non-technical professionals make sense of the most significant emerging technologies driving digital transformation across industries.
From artificial intelligence and blockchain to Internet of Things (IoT), robotics and virtual reality, you’ll explore how these innovations are disrupting industries. You’ll also learn about their real-world applications, and develop the awareness needed to engage in future-focused digital conversations.
Through a mix of online lectures and interactive learning, you’ll gain the confidence to evaluate emerging trends and assess their relevance for your sector.
This module is associated with the Sustainable Work - Professional Diploma. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award.
During this module, you will:
Demonstrate a clear understanding of key ICT technologies and how they support digital transformation.
Evaluate the real-world impact of emerging technologies across different sectors.
Communicate confidently about technical ideas with colleagues and stakeholders.
Progress towards further study in digital transformation or related ICT fields.
Key Information
This micro-credential will be delivered online over 6 weeks.
You will be assessed using continuous skill-based assignments provided by your lecturer and tutor with no final exam.

To help you to be successful on this course:
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant discipline.
If applicants have a lower result or an unrelated qualification, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence relevant work experience (Recognised Prior Learning).
