Data-driven quality improvement is a sought-after skill in modern manufacturing, healthcare, and service industries.
Understanding the statistical tools that underpin Six Sigma is an invaluable tool for professionals looking to advance in these industries.
This 15-week, Level 9 micro-credential introduces you to the core concepts of quality science and the data analysis techniques used in Six Sigma environments.
You’ll gain foundational skills in measurement, variation, and control, while building confidence in interpreting and applying statistical data to real-world processes.
Designed for professionals who are new to Six Sigma or seeking a structured introduction to quality management, this module also supports progression to postgraduate study in areas such as Quality Science.
This module is associated with the MSc in Strategic Quality Management - Lean Sigma Systems. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award.
During this module, you will:
Learn the core principles of quality science, including variation, measurement, and control in Six Sigma environments to analyse and improve processes.
Gain hands-on experience applying statistical techniques such as confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and ANOVA to analyse data and improve process performance in real world decision-making.
Understand how tools like control charts and capability analysis are used to maintain and enhance quality in real-world systems.
Build foundational knowledge that prepares you for further study or career progression in quality, operations, or Lean Six Sigma roles.
