ReSHAPE Project Funding

ReSHAPE Project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund Programme 2021-2027.
As cyber threats increasingly target critical infrastructure, securing Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) has become a priority across sectors like energy, manufacturing, and transport.
This 12-week, Level 9 online micro-credential is designed for professionals with a foundational understanding of OT/ICS networks and protocols.
You will learn how to assess vulnerabilities and implement protective controls based on recognised industry frameworks.
You will also explore how to build a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS), prepare for incident response, and align your organisation’s security practices with the latest OT standards and regulations.
This module is ideal for learners from Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines seeking to upskill in OT cybersecurity.
This module is associated with Operational Technology (OT) Security It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award.
During this module, you will:
Evaluate risks specific to OT environments and apply best practices to enhance network security.
Apply security frameworks to real-world OT/ICS systems and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Design the key components of a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) for industrial networks.
Build career-ready skills in OT cybersecurity and support progression to roles in cyber risk management, security architecture, or systems integration.
Key Information:
This micro-credential will be delivered online over 12 weeks.
You will be assessed using continuous assessment methods, including assignments, practical exercises, and online activities.

To help you to be successful on this course:
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant discipline.
Applicants must complete OT-ICS Networks and Protocols (CE5031) to enrol in this module.
If applicants have a lower result or an unrelated qualification, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence of 5 or more years of post-degree industrial experience in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering or related disciplines. (Recognised Prior Learning).
