Brief Description

Gain the essential knowledge to pursue a career in supply chain management with UL’s one-year, part-time online Professional Diploma in Supply Chain Management. 

The programme blends real-world application with theory, enabling participants to engage with frameworks, strategic management, mathematical and simulation modelling, and the latest technological trends. 

Developed and delivered by industry and academic experts, it equips graduates with the competency to increase global supply chain performance within their organisation. 

The programme is designed for applicants who are responsible for or actively engaged in supply chain activities in a variety of industry sectors - manufacturing, healthcare, defence, or services, who are either managing supply chains currently or aspire to do so. 

It offers a progression route to year 2 of the MSc in Supply Chain Operations and will earn 30 ECTS credits towards a Flexible Masters Pathway, allowing students to combine Postgraduate awards to achieve a Master’s over time. 

During this programme, you will:  

  • Gain the skills to increase supply chain performance within your organisation. 

  • Explore the alignment, design, implementation and operation of supply chains. 

  • Gain an awareness of marketing concepts in business to enable you to analyse and develop a company marketing plan. 

  • Develop a plan to operationalise strategic concepts using contemporary tools and techniques and understand how strategy can act as a programme of change within an organisation. 

Key information: 

  • Complete part-time over one year

  • Modules taught during spring and autumn semesters 

  • Approx. 12 weeks per semester 

You will learn through a blend of:  

  • Lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities  

  • Reflective practice and guided research  

  • Regular feedback from faculty and peers

Year 1  

Spring Semester 

  • introduces a wide range of frameworks to inform systematic thinking on the alignment, design, implementation and operation of supply chains. 

  •     provides an overview of the strategy process and of operations   management from concept to deployment. 

  • outlines mathematical models applicable to supply chains as well as modelling and software capabilities to apply mathematical models to supply chains. 

Summer Semester 

  • develops understanding of marketing concepts in business to enable students to produce a company marketing plan. 

  • provides students with knowledge on discrete event simulation modelling and its application to supply chains. 

Books and journal articles needed for the course will be available online through the UL Glucksman Library.

  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honour, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant or appropriate subject. 

  • You should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, particularly in the areas of supply chain function.  

  • The university may shortlist and invite you to an interview.

  • *If you are waiting to graduate, submit your application with the documents you have to date, you don’t need to have finished final exams before applying. 

Fee Paying:

EU - €5,250 per annum

Non- EU - € per annum

Please note that international study visas are only available to students studying full-time in Ireland. This programme does not qualify for a study visa. 

Annual fees are billed by semester. Once registered, students may be eligible to apply for a monthly payment plan.
