Brief Description
Sustainability is about how we live, move, plan and care for both people and the planet. This 6-week, Level 9 micro-credential explores sustainability across key areas like transport, tourism, planning, services and natural resources, with a focus on real-world challenges and solutions.
³Û´Ç³Ü’l±ô learn how to assess sustainability from environmental, economic, social and cultural perspectives. The module also looks at inequality in the context of sustainability including gender, race, sexuality and disability. Using real case studies, you’ll learn how to apply these ideas in your own organisation or sector.
Whether you work in planning, education, policy, services or community development, this micro-credential will give you a solid foundation in sustainability and how to put it into practice.
This module is associated with Climate Adaption and Sustainability - Professional Diploma. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award.
During this module, you will:
Learn how to assess the sustainability of different places, services or sectors using real-world examples
Explore sustainability from environmental, social, economic and cultural perspectives
Understand how issues like gender, race, disability and inequality affect sustainable development
Build practical skills to lead sustainability evaluations and recommend improvements in your workplace or community

This micro-credential will be delivered online over 7 weeks.
You will be assessed through 1-2 continuous skill-based assignments provided by your lecturers and tutors with no final exam.

To help you to be successful on this course:
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant discipline.
If applicants have a lower result or an unrelated qualification, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence of 5 or more years of relevant industrial experience.
