Brief Description
This dynamic 6 week course equips employees with the knowledge and tools to drive sustainability within organisations.
It explores the global dimensions of environmental, economic, and social sustainability—and how these intersect with business strategy, leadership, and change management.
Participants will:
Understand the business case for sustainable change
Learn to evaluate their team or business using key sustainability metrics now required by many banks and increasingly valued by clients
Develop a tailored sustainability action plan to implement meaningful change
Ideal for those in line management, supervisory, or people leadership roles, this course blends strategic insight with hands-on application, helping your organisation stay competitive, compliant, and future-ready.
Rooted in current research and policy, this module is ideal for professionals in HR, leadership, or change management who want to champion sustainability at work and lead meaningful organisational transformation.
This module is associated with the Sustainable Work - Professional Diploma. It can be taken as a standalone University Certificate of Study (UCOS) module or as part of a pathway to a larger award.
During this module, you will:
Examine sustainability in the context of global trends, environmental pressures, and workplace transformation.
Explore the relationship between sustainability, organisational decision-making, and inclusive work practices.
Learn practical frameworks for integrating sustainability into diverse working environments.
Gain skills to design,propose and assess your own sustainable work initiative, supporting real-world organisational change.
Key Information:
This micro-credential will be delivered online over 6 weeks.
You will be assessed using continuous assessment methods, including online learning activities and the development of a sustainability action plan.

To help you to be successful on this course:
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2).
If applicants have a lower result, they may be considered on a case-by-case basis if they can provide evidence of 5 or more years’ experience
Applicants must have prior experience in supervising and managing people.
