February marks Postgrad Month at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, a campus-wide celebration of postgraduate life, community and professional development.

Throughout the month, postgraduate students ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ can take part in a vibrant programme of social events and skills-based workshops designed to support both academic success and personal growth.

Key Events & Activities

Postgraduate Ball – 13 February: A highlight of Postgrad Month ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ is the annual Postgraduate Ball, taking place on Thursday, 13 February. The ball brings together postgraduate students from across disciplines to celebrate their achievements, connect with peers and enjoy a memorable evening on campus. As one of the most anticipated social events of the academic year, it reflects the strong postgraduate community ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

Public Speaking Workshop Series ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ: This year’s programme places a special focus on communication skills through a dedicated Public Speaking Workshop Series. Strong presentation skills are essential for postgraduate students — whether preparing for a thesis defence, presenting research at conferences or building confidence in professional settings. The three-part series includes:

• 6 February – Vanquish the Fear of Public Speaking
• 20 February – From Confidence to Impact: What to Say
• 27 February – How to Be a Remarkable Public Speaker
• All sessions begin at 11:00 AM

These interactive workshops are designed to help postgraduate students ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ become confident, impactful communicators. Registration is available via . 

Social and Creative Events for Postgraduate Students: In addition to formal workshops, Postgrad Month includes a range of social and wellbeing events such as chess sessions and bookmark painting, providing opportunities for postgraduate students to connect beyond the classroom and research environment.
