The successful bid for ICDAM 2023 was developed by the Physical Activity for Health Research Cluster (now the PAfH Research Centre) within the HRI, with planning supported by the HRI’s Conference Hosting Support Fund. The event brought together researchers focused on innovative methods for measuring diet and physical activity.

The conference showcased cutting-edge research and solutions for accurate measurement of dietary behaviour and physical activity, while promoting international collaboration and raising UL’s profile globally.
Professor Donnelly accepted the award on behalf of the Local Organising Committee, stating:
“It was a great honour to receive the award on behalf of the Local Organising Committee. Hosting the conference highlighted the HRI's strengths in diet and physical activity, and helped us to expand our international network and reach.”
