Aistear is a dynamic group of young traditional musicians hailing from Galway, Clare, andTipperary. Winners of this year’s Meitheal Group Prize, they have been recognised for their exceptional musicianship, creativity, and collaborative spark. The group features Conall D'Arcy (piano & concertina), John Elwood (accordion & melodeon), Rory Fitzgerald (flute), Keiran Brennan (guitar & banjo), and Diarmuid Slattery (fiddle).

Their fresh take on traditional tunes and thoughtful arrangements earned them a performance spot at the Meitheal Reunion Concert at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Wexford 2025. They are now looking forward to their upcoming concert at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, where they will bring their distinctive sound to the Lunchtime Concert Se ries.
