The Hand of Doon is a newly formed improvised duo exploring drones, feedback and lo-fi aesthetics.
Matthew Noone is an indie rocker, improviser, composer and scholar whose primary instrument is the North Indian sarode. He has studied Indian classical music with Sougata Roy Chowdhury in Kolkata and K. Sridhar in the UK for over twenty years and works in a diverse range of disciplines ranging from Indian classical and Irish traditional music to contemporary folk, doom, electronica and electroacoustic improvisation.
Steve is the founding member and principal songwriter of seminal Irish bands Giveamanakick and Windings. He is a serial collaborator and has co-written and played guitar with the Rusangano Family and Denise Chaila on their Choice Music Prize winning albums. Named as one of the best guitarists working in Ireland today by , he also works extensively in original sound design for theatre, dance performance, and film.
