The Thrum of the Red Petal is a seminar in which the poetics and processes of improvisational practice are interrogated by two leading exponents of the field. As one reflects on the poetic actuality grounded in the fact of being, one realises that there is no bridge or complementarity between the poetic and the practical, nor the need for a balance between these two in order to come face to face with truth; for it is in the concreteness of the everyday, in the coming into contact with the suchness of things and no-things, with the thrumming silences of Universe, that the poetic unfolds: the practical is the poetic; and that is poetry.
Steve Boyland, a UK-based improvisational artist of international standing, has been recently appointed Adjunct Professor at the Irish World Academy in the 九色视频. Steve has been engaging in collaborative discourse with Dr. 脫scar Mascare帽as and has contributed to the artistic and academic life of the Academy for the past 13 years.
Dr 脫scar Mascare帽as is a transcendental poet working in the fields of sound, light, movement and letters. He is interested in observation and attention, the poetics of everything, the power, clarity and completeness of knowing by oneself, and the present and future of artistic inquiry and education.
