The Agresso Cloud Migration project, including the sub-projects, is a mandatory programme of work, due to the vendors on-premise offering approaching end of life.
In October 2023, the vendor of our ERP on-premise finance system will become unsupported and advised that they have taken the strategic decision to provide SaaS (cloud) solutions only going forward.
Working in partnership with our Finance colleagues, having conducted an extensive risk assessment on the options available over many months, and having completed a comprehensive review of the contractual terms, the University signed the contract for the SaaS solution in March 2025.
In February 2026, the University will commence the Cloud Migration project, however in advance of that there are a number of key sub-projects that need to be delivered, namely:
- Implementation of Budget Planner
- Upgrade to the latest version 7.15
- Back Office Move to Web
- Oracle to SQL Migration
The first two aforementioned sub-projects have been completed, while 90% of Back Office Users have moved to the Web, with the current focus residing with the the remaining 10% of Users. We have now kicked off the planning of the Oracle to SQL Migration, a project that will run for approximately the next 6 months and will be another key deliverable in the overall success of the overall Cloud Migration project.
What does it mean for the UL community?

Therefore, the benefits are largely technology related, with the key benefits summarised as follows:

Once migrated to the Cloud based solution, UL will automatically receive the following services: Technical Operations & Support, Backup & System Restore, Disaster Recovery, Monitoring & Alerts.
