A Digital User Access account is required to access IT services provided by UL such as Email, Brightspace, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for Business.

An account consists of a username and password. All accounts must have Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and Password Reset (SSPR) enabled before they can be activated. This task is completed during the onboarding process for new students and staff.

Visit our  below for detailed step-by-step instructions on how to set up MFA and Password Reset. Note: You will need a mobile phone to complete this step.

If you have a new phone and need to update your MFA details, click here for information on how to complete this process. To use this method, you will need access to the original phone you used to configure MFA registration and the new phone.

UL Students
If you no longer have access to the phone you used to complete the MFA registration process, you need to complete an MFA Reset Form.  

UL Staff
If you no longer have access to the phone you used to complete the MFA registration process, please email service.desk@ul.ie.

You can use Password Reset (SSPR) to securely reset your password.

Please note: All IT systems must require passwords of at least 14 characters. Users are advised to create passwords in the form of a passphrase, consisting of at least three unrelated words or a meaningful sentence. Please see the UL Password Standards for full details. 

You may still have an active student computer account. If that is the case you can use your old password If you remember it, otherwise you need to reset your password SSPR.
