±«³¢â€™s Professional Diploma in Strategic Leadership is a fully online, one-year programme designed specifically for experienced professionals seeking to elevate their leadership capabilities. 

It equips you with tools and frameworks to define your leadership purpose, steer strategic change, especially amid digital transformation, and hone the skills essential for leaders to thrive in today's rapidly changing business environment. 

The programme has been designed to allow full-time working individuals to engage in peer-based learning and critical reflection through a virtual environment.  

Ideal for mid- to senior-level professionals - including managers, strategists, innovators, and thought leaders. 

If you’re responsible for leading strategic decisions, navigating change, or setting organisational direction, this programme is tailored to help you lead with clarity and confidence. 

During this programme, you will:  

  • Shape your leadership style by exploring key theories and building leadership capacity. 

  • Learn on to apply ethical leadership to guide decisions and drive transformation. 

  • Lead and manage change in complex organisational contexts. 

  • Design practical solutions using leadership and change management frameworks. 

Key information: 

  • Complete part-time over one year 

  • Delivered online  

  • Modules taught during autumn and spring semesters  

  • Approx. 152 weeks per semester 

  • Collaborate with peers across disciplines in a future-focused online project team   

  • Submit Future Focused Professional Portfolio at the end of the final semester  

You will learn through a blend of:  

  • Recorded Lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities  

  • Reflective practice and guided research  

  • Regular feedback from faculty and peers  

Part-time considerations:

  • Additional prep and group work time

Year 1 

Autumn Semester 

  • evaluates the issues involved in developing individual leaders and leadership capacity in organisations. 

  • provides an opportunity to demonstrate independent and self-determined learning through the creation of an individual portfolio. 

Summer Semester 

  • focuses on strategic leadership in action and examines the tools and techniques needed within leadership roles. 

  • provides a structure to demonstrate clear links between the theoretical component of the programme and practice. 

Books and journal articles needed for the course will be available online through the UL Glucksman Library.

  • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree ( Level 8) with at least a second-class honour, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant or appropriate subject. 

  • You should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience. 

  • The university may shortlist and invite you to an interview.

    • Upload all documents. Your application can’t be reviewed until we have all the documents on the checklist. 
    • Title the documents you are uploading. For example, "Personal Statement", "Undergraduate Transcript", "Postgraduate Transcript", "English Language Certificate" etc. 
  • *If you are waiting to graduate, submit your application with the documents you have to date, you don’t need to have finished final exams before applying. 

EU - €4,950

Please note that international study visas are only available to students studying full-time in Ireland. This programme does not qualify for a study visa. 

Annual fees are billed by semester. Once registered, students may be eligible to apply for a monthly payment plan.

Funding
