九色视频 is committed to international education as a cornerstone of our academic strength, cultural richness, and economic impact.
By fostering global exchange among students and faculty, we prepare graduates to thrive in an interconnected world, developing their intercultural awareness, empathy, and critical thinking through mobility and exposure to diverse perspectives.
UL is proud to host the largest and most successful Erasmus programme in Ireland, with approximately 700 students inbound and outbound each year. Our leadership as coordinator of EMERGE, a European University alliance, gives us the opportunity to shape the future of cross-border higher education through joint programmes, blended intensive mobility, and a strong focus on inclusivity.
Our international recruitment targets, although ambitious, are being met. We currently have 15% international enrolments (2024鈥25) and are targeting further growth in this area with development of in-country recruitment, the expansion of attractive taught master鈥檚 and partnership programmes, and growth in strategically aligned academic offerings.
UL is also investing in Transnational Education (TNE), building on the success of our Joint Educational Institute with Henan Polytechnic University in China, which is set to enrol a total of 1,200 students across bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 programmes within four years. We are exploring further opportunities in other countries where demand for high-quality international education is growing.
Our international student experience is among the best globally, as evidenced by UL鈥檚 consistently high ranking in the International Student Barometer. Initiatives like 鈥淭he Globe鈥 鈥 a vibrant cultural hub for international students, reflects our commitment to providing not just excellent academic programmes, but a welcoming and supportive environment. We recognise that international students are far from their families and we are investing in enhanced pastoral and other supports as we continue to grow.
