As part of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s ongoing commitment to enhancing teaching and learning, the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) will be replaced by a new instrument: the TRUST-SET (Time to Reflect and Understand Students).

Key Information:

• Administered by: Quality Support Unit
• Survey Timing: Week 10 of each semester
• Pilot Launch: Week 10, Semester 1, 2025/6
• Pilot Participation: Voluntary and opt-in
• Full Rollout: TRUST-SET will become mandatory from Semester 2, 2025/6
• Early SET applications: Not available during the pilot semester.

TRUST-SET was developed to:

• Implement recommendations from the CINNTE institutional review.
• Support Pillar 2 of UL’s Action for Wisdom strategy: Transforming Education.
• Improve data collection, monitoring, and reporting on teaching quality.

• Brightspace Integration â€“ Students complete the survey within the VLE.
•  â€“ Real-time response rates and feedback summaries.
• Feedback Loop â€“ Instructors can respond to student feedback. Closing the loop is essential to show students their voices are heard and valued. Providing reflections after the survey builds trust, drives engagement and supports continuous improvement.
• Inclusive Evaluation â€“ All teaching contributors are included.
• Alignment with TRUST-EM â€“ Supports streamlined institutional reporting.
• TRUST-SET feedback (quantitative data only) is also shared with HoD and Dean.
