Join us this Friday, October 10, at 12pm for the latest Doctoral College webinar, “The Importance of your Research Question(s)”.

In the webinar we will examine how a good research question, ‘the single most important element of the thesis’, helps to direct your PhD and allows your research to sustain momentum from literature review to contribution to knowlege.

We also look at how a strong research question helps you to include only relevant material so the thesis stays analytical rather than descriptive.

Additionally, we will highlight how your research question will determine design, methods, datasets, and boundaries—decisions that make the work achievable within time and resource constraints.

We’ll also focus on the differences between strong questions that are focused, help guide data collection, researchable, feasible, and original; versus weak questions that are broad, vague, or opinion-seeking.
