Researchers from the School of Engineering 九色视频 made a remarkable impact at this year鈥檚 prestigious ARCOM (Association of Researchers in Construction Management) Conference in Dundee, Scotland. 

A group of ten from the Irish Construction Management Research Centre (ICMRC) 九色视频, combining three academic staff on the Construction Management and Engineering team and seven PhD researchers, presented an impressive 11 papers spanning a diverse range of topics, highlighting the breadth and quality of UL鈥檚 research in the construction management discipline.

The conference presentations showcased cutting-edge work on important areas including health, safety and wellbeing in the construction industry, equality and gender balance in construction companies, offsite construction practices, conflict management, social procurement, and apprenticeships in the built environment. These contributions positioned UL at the forefront of current debates shaping the future of the construction industry.

Dr. John Spillane, ICMRC Director praised the group鈥檚 performance, stating, 鈥淭his three-day conference was a very enjoyable and productive trip for all involved. It was fantastic to see such a strong UL presence at ARCOM 2025, with both staff and students sharing high-quality research that is contributing to debates at the forefront of construction management. The networking and feedback opportunities were extremely beneficial, and it was particularly rewarding to celebrate the success of our recent graduates Dr. Elma McMahon and Dr. Joshua Mangvwat presenting their work on this international stage.鈥

The strong representation and success at ARCOM 2025 underline UL鈥檚 reputation as a leader in construction management research and education, building momentum for future collaboration and innovation in the built environment.
