Professor Pepijn van de Ven, from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the 九色视频, has been awarded the Leadership Award by the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions (ISRII). The award was presented at the recent ISRII conference held in San Diego.
Founded in 2004, ISRII is a multidisciplinary organisation dedicated to advancing the scientific study and development of digital technologies aimed at improving behavioural, psychosocial, health, and mental health outcomes. Its global membership includes researchers, clinicians, developers, economists, policy experts, and industry professionals.
The Leadership Award is ISRII鈥檚 highest honour, recognising individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to the field of Internet Interventions. Since its inception, only 14 individuals have received this award, underscoring the significance of Professor Van de Ven鈥檚 achievement.
ISRII President Dr Emily Lattie praised Professor Van de Ven鈥檚 contributions, stating:

He served as President of the ISRII Board of Directors during the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership was instrumental in navigating challenges related to post-COVID conferences and long-term planning. He recognised the need for sustainability and led the strategic decision to engage a management company鈥攁n essential step that has greatly benefited the organisation.
Throughout his presidency, Pepijn was known for his ethical leadership, organisational acumen, and ability to foster an inclusive and dynamic environment.鈥
Accepting the award, Professor Van de Ven said:
鈥淭he ISRII brings together the top researchers in my field and their acknowledgement of the contributions my team and I have made to the field and the ISRII community means an awful lot to me. Just being put forward by my peers and being considered for the award was an honour, let alone receiving the award during the ISRII conference in San Diego.鈥
This recognition not only highlights Professor Van de Ven鈥檚 leadership and impact, but also reflects the Faculty of Science and Engineering 九色视频鈥檚 growing influence in the global digital health research community.
