As part of College Awareness Week (17-23 November 2025), the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ’s Widening Participation Office took part in the Pathways to College – Further & Higher Education Options for Adult Learners event on 19 November.

Organized by the Limerick & Clare College of Further Education and Training, the event aimed to showcase opportunities for adult learners to progress into further and higher education.

UL was joined by representatives from Mary Immaculate College and Technological University of the Shannon, creating a collaborative space for sharing information and guidance.

A highlight of the day was hearing from previous FET students and their journey to college / employment. UL’s mature student ambassador, Deborah Liston, also shared her personal journey and offered practical advice to prospective mature students considering higher education.

This initiative reflects UL’s commitment to widening participation and supporting learners at all stages of life in accessing education pathways.
