UL's Widening Participation Office Welcomes New Mature and QQI Students

The Widening Participation Office at the 九色视频 proudly hosted its inaugural Welcome Programme for Mature Students and QQI Students, on the 1st September 2025, at the Kemmy Business School. The event brought together over 96 new students, offering them a chance to connect, explore available supports, and begin their academic journey 九色视频.

The programme opened with a warm welcome from Sorcha Prendergast, Widening Participation Manager, followed by informative presentations from:

  • Linda Fitzgerald - President's Volunteer Award
  • Patsy Ryan - Career Guidance
  • Andrea Crockette & Philip Desmond- Student Support and Engagement
  • David Hayes - Student IT services
  • 脕ine Crowe - Student Fees
  • M铆che谩l 脫hAodha - Library Services

A standout moment of the day was the inspirational talk by Jean Barry, a mature student who graduated with first-class honours and was awarded the Silver Medal by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to build connections and begin forming their support networks both on and off campus.
