I was keen on an arts degree as I wanted to do something that was broad and varied and not prescriptive to one defined route of employment.

Ayobami Ademuwagun is from Nigeria and studied for the LLM Human Rights in Criminal Justice here ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Ayobami gives her perspective on studying in Ireland and her experience of the course.

Michael Carmody is graduate of the Bachelor of Laws (Law plus) LLB at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and is currently a student of the LLM in Human Rights in Criminal Justice ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. He shares his experience of the masters programme, the UL School of Law and studying ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

Law Plus in UL is one of few legal courses where a student can benefit from the study of an additional humanities module of their choice, but also have achieved the requisite credits to sit the New York bar exam. There are very few Universities which offer this level of opportunity - so UL was the obvious choice for me!

Aisling Croke studied for the LLM International Commercial Law here ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Aisling gives her perspective on studying the LLM and her experience of the course.

Nancy Lugeye is from Tanzania and is currently studying for the LLM International Commercial Law here ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Nancy gives her perspective on studying in Ireland and her experience of the course so far.

I firmly believe the LLM has given me a huge boost of confidence and led me to do things I would never have known I could. I have worked internally with the Law Society for over ten years as tutor and internal examiner, and now I am currently a dissertation supervisor for a number of LLM students studying the LLM Advanced Legal Practice in the Law Society of Ireland. The academic experience of completing the LLM in UL certainly paved the way for me to qualify for these roles.

Paul Kwamina Ntisful-Yirrah was born in Ghana but subsequently moved to the US where he lived with his family. He is a graduate of the LLM Law (General) here at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Paul describes what inspired him to study law, why he chose UL, and gives us an insight into the programme itself.

Marta is a recent graduate of the MA in Applied Linguistics here in UL. She shares her experiences of the programme, the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and Ireland below.

I would recommend the course; I would also really recommend UL as I felt very supported by staff and indeed my fellow students. I find when people think about applied linguistics they should not just be thinking about an academic or professional view of linguistics, because you will learn a lot for your personal life as well.
