Dr Sophie Cooper (QUB) and Dr Niamh NicGhabhann Coleman (UL) led two interdisciplinary workshops on the topic of commemoration and the history of emotions in June 2025. The 'Feeling Sites of Commemoration' seminars were held in Queen's University Belfast and in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, and included researchers and practitioners from a wide range of disciplines or backgrounds. This project also included a keynote lecture by Brian Crowley (Kilmainham Gaol and the Pearse Museum) at Dublin City Library and Archives, Pearse Street. The project will result in a report outlining the implications for policy and practice. This project were awarded funding from the Royal Irish Academy's Commemorations bursary.
