¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ

The Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) has announced that a new collection – Locating Bench Marks, Preserving Heritage – has been published in the Repository by the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ.

The digital archive contains photographs of extant Ordnance Survey bench marks in County Limerick, collected by the project team and volunteers between 2025 and 2026. It is hoped these photographs will help estimate the level of heritage loss across the county and the island and open up discussions regarding their preservation and protection. The project, which is ongoing, is co-funded by The Heritage Council and FAHSS, and led by Dr Catherine Porter (Geography), with the assistance of Dr Margaret O'Sullivan and Elizabeth Gabbett.
