Agata Lynch is a Doctoral Researcher in Sociology at the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ (UL), with expertise in mixed-methods research and the sociology of education. Her doctoral research project focuses on gender and education, particularly within STEM fields.
Agata qualified as a Polish attorney-at-law in 2012 after earning a Master of Law (Magister Prawa) from the University of Warsaw (2005). She later transitioned into the social sciences, completing an Honours Master of Arts in Gender, Culture, and Society ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ in 2018.
She holds a keen academic interest in the intersections of qualitative and mixed-methods research, ethics and research integrity, spanning the full range from paradigms to ethical dilemmas and practical solutions, including those arising from the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is also interested in the study of social conflict and hostility, and in the reciprocal relationship between these phenomena and public discourse and social relations.
Agata has professional experience as a Lecturer in Qualitative Methods ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ and previously coordinated the SOPHia Project, an outreach initiative aimed at addressing gender disparities in physics education. Her doctoral studies are supported by the FAHSS and S&E ‘Athena Swan’ PhD Scholarship and the HEA Covid Extension Fund.
