This academic year鈥檚 Leadership Programme for new Heads of Department and Assistant Deans commenced on 31 August 2022. This programme aims to support this group of fantastic new leaders in their roles, as we all work together to build capacity and support ambition across UL. At the kick-off meeting, the President and Provost shared their insights on leadership within a UL context, supported by a panel of experienced colleagues Dr Deirdre McGrath (School of Medicine); Prof. Deirdre O鈥橪oughlin (KBS); Dr Jeff Punch (Science and Engineering); Dr Liam Murray (Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics). Developed by Alison O'Regan, Frances Murphy and Michelle Noonan of the HR Talent Development team, this programme has the dual role of accelerating internal learning (with support from UL colleagues) and developing leadership skills (with input from Advance HE). Wishing this new group of leaders the very best in their new roles. With the combination of expert input, peer learning and networking we know that this fantastic group of new leaders will excel!
