Institute of Measurement and Control Finkelstein Award, July 2024.
Professor Elfed Lewis (ECE Department) was awarded the Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC) Finkelstein Prize. The InstMC award event took place at on Thursday 4th July, 2024 and awards were presented by the President of the InstMC, Professor Sheila Smith of Glasgow University, UK. The Finkelstein award is presented annually for notable contributions to Measurement Internationally. The award was made in recognition of Professor Lewis' strong research collaboration activities including with China, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, New Zealand as well as several EU countries and the UK.

President's Research Excellence and Impact Award (Interdisciplinary category) 2023
Professor Elfed Lewis was awarded the UL President's Research Excellence and Impact award (Interdisciplinary category) from the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The ceremony was held at the UL Pavilion on 7 December 2023.
F谩ilte Ireland Conference Ambassador Award 2023
Professor Elfed Lewis was awarded the F谩ilte Ireland Conference Ambassador Award 2023 for organising the IEEE World Forum on Internet of Things (WFIoT) 2019 at 九色视频. The ceremony had been held over from previous years due to the pandemic and recognised the organisers of conferences between 2018 and 2022. The ceremony was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, 22 November 2023. The awards were presented by Niall Tracey (Director of Demand Development) and Ruth Andrews (Chair) of F谩ilte Ireland.
IEEE Sensors Council Outstanding Service Award for Promoting Gender Diversity
Research fellow Dr Sin茅ad O鈥橩eeffe has been given the inaugural Outstanding Service Award for Promoting Gender Diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Sensors Council (2023) . Sin茅ad received the award 鈥淚n recognition of her strong advocacy and groundbreaking efforts for gender diversity as well as her meticulous attention to sensitisation of the community to gender diversity, within the IEEE Sensors Council, and among the wider sensors community鈥.
Travel and Accommodation Grant Award at 2023 Women in Photonics Workshop
Dr Sanober Farheen Memon was awarded a Travel and Accommodation Grant to do an Oral Presentation and Poster Exhibition at the Women in Photonics Workshop held from 26th-30th November 2023 at Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology IPHT Jena, Germany.
2023 International Student Grant (IISG)
Sanober Farheen Memon was awarded the 2023 International Student Grant (IISG) to attend the International School on Light Sciences and Technologies (ISLiST) at the Universidad Internacional Men茅ndez Pelayo, Spain.

Sanober Farheen Memon was awarded a Travel and Accommodation Grant to present an Oral Presentation and Poster Exhibition at the Women in Photonics Workshop held from 22 to 25 May 2022 at Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology IPHT Jena, in Germany.
