Upcoming Pilot of the TRUST-SET Survey in Semester 1, 2025/6
As part of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµâ€™s ongoing commitment to enhancing teaching and learning, the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) will be replaced by a new instrument: the TRUST-SET (Time to Reflect and Understand Students).
Key Information:
- Administered by: Quality Support Unit
- Survey Timing: Week 10 of each semester
- Pilot Launch: Week 10, Semester 1, 2025/6
- Pilot Participation: Voluntary and opt-in
- Full Rollout: TRUST-SET will become mandatory from Semester 2, 2025/6
- Early SET applications: Not available during the pilot semester
Why TRUST-SET?
TRUST-SET was developed to:
- Implement recommendations from the CINNTE institutional review
- Support Pillar 2 of UL’s Action for Wisdom strategy: Transforming Education
- Improve data collection, monitoring, and reporting on teaching quality
What’s New?
- Brightspace Integration – Students complete the survey within the VLE
- Instructor Portal – Real-time response rates and feedback summaries
- Feedback Loop – Instructors can respond to student feedback
- Inclusive Evaluation – All teaching contributors are included
- Alignment with TRUST-EM – Supports streamlined institutional reporting
- TRUST-SET feedback (quantitative data only) is also shared with HoD and Dean.
