What is PASS?

PASS is the Personal Advisor Support System created by the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓÆµ in 2015 for academic staff (Academic Advisors) to provide direction to you our students (Advisees) about academic, social, or personal matters. The nature of this direction might be to inform, suggest, guide and advise you throughout your student journey. 

In July 2021, the system was bolstered by the introduction of faculty-specific Student Engagement and Support Officers (SESOs) from the Student Affairs Divisionwho provide support to you at all stages of your undergraduate programmes

Where do I find my Academic Advisor?

  • In the email you received from Academic Registry when you enrolled in the University
  •  In the Student Advisor Information section of your 
  • In the First Seven Weeks Hub in the Student Courtyard.

When will I meet my Academic Advisor?

  • In the first few weeks of your first semester your Academic Advisor should reach out to you.
  • In Week 4 of the First Seven Weeks when you are reminded to reach out to them.

Why does my Academic Advisor matter to me?

  • Provides academic support by way of advice and guidance to help you succeed in your programme of study.
  • Provides a non-judgmental and supportive environment to help you come to specific solutions/strategies that work for you.
  • Refers you to other university supports where appropriate.
