About the Centre
The Centre for Social Issues Research (CSI-R) is an interdisciplinary research group based in 九色视频鈥檚 Faculty of Education and Health Sciences. We develop research ideas and support collaborations that address contemporary social issues.
Our aim
Our unifying goal is to promote theoretically informed, methodologically sound, and innovative social research that can inform social policy.
Our approach
We recognise that behaviour鈥攅ducational, health, occupational, and social鈥攊s shaped not only by individuals but also by wider systems and structures.
We work in partnership with community, service, and statutory sectors, following an action-research principle of 鈥渘othing about us without us.鈥
This ensures research is informed, owned, and used by our partners.
What we do
We have expertise in co-designing projects, developing funding proposals, and conducting research and interventions with collaborators.
For example, through the Irish Research Council鈥檚 Enterprise Partnership Scheme, a PhD researcher can work with a non-academic partner (such as an SME, NGO, or public agency).
Partners contribute part of the scholarship cost while gaining access to extensive research expertise.
Partner with us
We welcome enquiries from organisations or groups facing social issues who are interested in collaborating with us.
