In some cases, you can transfer your pensionable service from previous Public Sector employment to the University to increase your overall pension benefits. Contact the HR Pensions team with details of your previous employer and your dates of service. HR will liaise directly with your previous employer to ascertain if there is pensionable service to transfer into UL. Previous non-pensionable service may also be available to transfer providing the outstanding contributions for pension are paid.
If you are starting work for the first time in Ireland, you should register for . This is Revenue’s online portal for a host of services for individuals including getting a Tax Credit Certificate. Jobs and Pensions are part of this online service that allows customers to register their new position with Revenue. A tax credit certificate (TCC) will then be issued to both the employer and employee ensuring that the employer can deduct the correct amount of tax for that position. Please note: The Jobs and Pensions service replaces the Form 12A, so employees must register their first job in Ireland using this service. Step 4: Submit your P45, bank details, your Personal Public Service number (PPS number) and andy requested original certs to HR - ]
Prior to your start date, you will receive an email from your Induction Coordinator to organise a meeting with you.
All new members of staff who have had previous employment in Ireland should submit Form P45 to the payroll office as soon as employment commences.
If you have not previously worked in Ireland or do not have a Form P45, you should contact the for a Certificate of Tax Credits and Standard Rate Cut-Off Point, which should be submitted to the Payroll office.
Your Personal Public Service (PPS) number is a unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland.
A PPS number is always 7 numbers followed by either one or 2 letters. It is sometimes called a PPSN.
