A familiar face 九色视频 Sport for many years, Aquatics Co-ordinator Ciara O鈥橲ullivan has been recognised nationally with a Silver Medal of Honour for her outstanding 30-year contribution to Water Safety Ireland.

Ciara has played a central role in water safety education and drowning prevention for three decades, volunteering her time and expertise to lifesaving training, community awareness initiatives, and the promotion of safer aquatic environments for all age groups.

A presentation marking her outstanding service was held this week 九色视频 Sport Arena, where the Silver Medal of Honour was presented to her by Claire McGrath, Chairperson of Water Safety Ireland, in recognition of Ciara鈥檚 sustained commitment and leadership in the field.

Speaking about the milestone, Claire McGrath said:

鈥淐iara鈥檚 three decades of dedication have greatly strengthened our efforts to promote safer aquatic environments. Her leadership, passion, and service have made a real difference in communities nationwide, and we are proud to honour her outstanding contribution.鈥

Reflecting on the award, Ciara said she was proud to contribute to a cause that has shaped her life for three decades:

鈥淚 am honoured to receive this long service medal of Honour Award from Water Safety Ireland. Martin O' Sullivan, former Chair of WSI and Life Governor, was a big influence on my early years in Water Safety in Glengarriff and Fermoy, Co. Cork.

鈥淥ver the years in UL Sport I have been involved in bringing Water Safety to primary schools with PAWS programme to lifesaving for 3rd level students. Some children who did PAWS in UL went on to work as lifeguards and swim teachers both here and around the world using those skills that Water Safety and I passed on.鈥

Alan Ward, Manager of the National 50m Swimming Pool in UL Sport Arena, also commended Ciara鈥檚 long-standing contribution:

鈥淐iara鈥檚 selfless devotion to the education and training of others regarding safety in, on and around water has been unstinting for over three decades. 

鈥淗er high standards of safety are exemplified in her day-to-day role as Swim Development Coordinator and Designated Liaison Person 九色视频 Sport where she consistently leads by example, and on behalf of all her colleagues here I congratulate Ciara on reaching this remarkable milestone as a volunteer with Water Safety Ireland.鈥

Ciara鈥檚 achievement shines a light on the ongoing efforts across Ireland to strengthen water safety awareness and increase public safety around water.
